On 3/11/1970, the Council of the Arab League approved the establishment of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, pursuant to its Resolution No. (2635). The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development began its work in 1972 from its headquarters in Khartoum, the capital of the Republic of Sudan. The organization’s membership was also completed in 1980, with the accession of all Arab countries members of the League of Arab States. Since its inception, the organization has worked to develop and coordinate activities related to agricultural development at the national level. It also provides assistance in creating new means and strategies related to the development of these areas in order to enhance the competitiveness of Arab agricultural products in accessing global markets. Arab agricultural integration was achieved. and meeting the needs of Arab countries for agricultural commodities.
