This program contributes to achieving all strategic objectives, It focuses in particular on serving the first strategic objective of supporting transformation and adaptation in agricultural and food systems to eradicate hunger and reduce poverty. This program is also expected to contribute to achieving the following sub-objectives:
- Developing, improving and sustaining competitive Arab agricultural production that helps eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
- Developing rural agricultural systems for small producers and family farming, supporting innovation, agribusiness, value chain approaches, and rural industrialization.
As well as contributing to achieving the following 2030 Sustainable Development Goals:
End poverty in all its forms everywhere (Goal 1).
End hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture (Goal 2).
promoting the use of enabling technology, especially information and communication technology, to promote women’s empowerment (Goal 5).
Expand international cooperation and support capacity building for developing countries in the field of water, including water use efficiency and water harvesting (Goal 6).
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns (Goal 12).
The program includes three sub-programs as follows:
- Sub-programme for adopting and disseminating modern and appropriate agricultural technologies, smart agriculture technologies, and adaptation to climate and environmental variables for sustainable agricultural production.
- Sub-programme for Adoption and Dissemination of Aquaculture Technologies.
- Sub-programme for the adoption and dissemination of good agricultural practices and the circular economy in the agricultural sector and food systems.
