On Sunday, August 11, 2024, the activities of the national training course in the field of “Fish Hatchery and Care” were launched, which is implemented by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development. At the headquarters of the Central Laboratory for Fish Resources Research in Abbassia, Sharkia Governorate, During the period 11-15/8/2024 AD, This is for the benefit of 30 participating agricultural engineers, To train on the basics of modern fish hatching, fry care and incubation methods for different types of farmed fish, including Nile tilapia – different types of sea bream – as well as African catfish hatching. This comes within the framework of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development’s annual program for country training in the Arab countries.

Based on the ongoing cooperation between the organization and the Central Laboratory for Fisheries Research, With the aim of transferring expertise and the results of applied research to farmers and those interested in developing fish resources in Egypt, including research centers, students and professors at Egyptian universities, and all those interested in developing and promoting fish resources, and training in modern applications and field practices.

The training covered all specializations serving the fisheries sector, from the modern foundations for establishing fish hatcheries, water quality management and dealing with its optimal measurements during the fish spawning period, as well as implementing biosecurity programs and dealing with fish diseases in fish hatcheries. The program also includes practical training on hatching in various laboratory hatcheries, as well as field visits to fish farms in the Abbassia area. The trainee will receive an international certificate accredited by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development and another certificate from the Agricultural Research Center and the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture.
