The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development participated, Represented by the Regional Office in the Arab Middle Region in the Arab Republic of Egypt, In the activities of the National Wheat Day conference, It was organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in cooperation with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and in partnership with the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF). and the United Institute for Nuclear Sciences in the Russian Federation, Which was held on the sidelines of the seventh Cairo International Exhibition for Innovation 2023. which is held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, This will take place on the 13th and 14th of February 2023 in the new administrative capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The conference discussed the future of wheat cultivation in Egypt. and mechanisms to reduce the import rate, Developing scientific solutions to the problems facing wheat production and storage in the short and long term. The conference sessions on the first day dealt with two topics related to wheat: Wheat production and wheat trade dynamics.

India’s experience in using artificial intelligence to determine wheat imports was presented through an electronic platform through which data is monitored and analyzed transparently. Forward-looking tools were also presented to the private sector to improve risk management and analyze global prices.

The second day dealt with the pivotal patterns of wheat consumption in Egypt and policy recommendations. The conference ended with several recommendations to support decision makers. Including the need to diversify import sources and effectively manage risks related to wheat production and import, And the use of tools to forecast world prices and the trends of different countries in wheat production, With the possibility of using modeling based on artificial intelligence.
