The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a training course in the field of Laboratory Management and Standard Application of (ISO 17025), from the 15th to the 26th of April 2108 in Cairo, Egypt. The participants were 15 Arab researches, veterinarians, quality managers and lecturers working in the Arab ministries of agriculture in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Oman, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

The course aimed to introduce quality control and its tools, and to train laboratory personnel on how to implement the requirements of ISO 17025 – 2017. The implementation will lead to the approval of the laboratories requirements and the way of evaluating it. Moreover, the course reflected the biosecurity awareness in laboratories and introduced the participants to veterinary health certificates.

The course also included OIE policies, standards and tests, and biosecurity programs in safe disposal of waste.
