On May 24, 2018 the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Director General H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri met with the Director General of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Dr. Monique Eloit, on the sidelines of the 86th session of the General Assembly of OIE in Paris, France. The meeting came in the framework of the cooperation between the two organizations in the field of combating transboundary animal diseases in the Arab and African regions.
The two sides agreed to implement a joint program aimed at controling and controlling transboundary animal diseases (foot-and-mouth disease, ruminants, rift valley fever and pulmonary tuberculosis) and agreed to develop an integrated program document to develop capacity and veterinary services to facilitate the trade of live animals and their products between the member countries.
On the sidelines of the OIE General Assembly, H.E Prof El Dukhiri met with the participating delegations of the IGAD and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
