The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), organized a training course in the field of " Enhancing negotiating capabilities and environmental diplomacy" in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Cairo, Egypt. The participants were 22 trainees from ten Arab countries, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) and the Arab Federation for Wild Life Protection.
At the inauguration ceremony, four speeches were delivered by the representative of the Egyptian Minister of Environment, the Director of the Environment Department in the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the head of the Environmental Law Department at UNEP, and the representative of AOAD.
The course program addressed the types of international environmental agreements, negotiation techniques and how to prepare a competent negotiator. It is worth mentioning that there was a practical session for the participants to practice their negotiation skills.
