The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a training course in the field of Design of epidemiological surveys and data analysis for Rift Valley Fever Disease on 8-12 July 2018 at the premises of AOAD in Khartoum, Sudan. The participants were 15 trainees from different livestock departments in Sudan. The course came within the framework of the National Program for Controlling Transboundary Animal Diseases in the Arab Region in cooperation with the Sudanese Ministry of Animal Resources.

The course aimed to build the capacity of veterinary cadres and develop the skills of participants in designing epidemiological surveys and data analysis for Rift Valley Fever disease.

The course included lectures on epidemiology, Rift Valley Fever disease and epidemiological surveys, practical applications on the design of Rift Valley disease surveys, sampling framework, prepare sample surveys forms, epidemiological data management and report writing.
