Within the framework of the efforts of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Director General H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri to strengthen partnerships and cooperation with counterpart organizations, he met with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Dr. José Graziano da Silva, on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Regional Conference for the Near East held at the headquarters of FAO during the period from 7 to 11 May 2018.

The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, and the possibility of future cooperation between the two organizations in the areas of pest and animal diseases and plant diseases, capacity development, regional strategy to achieve the objectives of sustainable development and food security.

At the end of the meeting, H.E Dr Graziano lauded the role played by the AOAD to eradicate hunger, achieve sustainable agricultural development and Arab food security, and thanked H.E Prof. El Dukhiri for his valuable contribution and participation in the 34th session of the Conference.
