The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) launched a training course in cooperation with the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries and the Intermediate Technological Agricultural Institute from the 15th till the 19th of December 2019 in Algeria. 25 participants were enrolled in the training program representing the different departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.

The course covered many topics related to defining the basic concepts of agricultural extension and rural development, communication and information technology, opportunities and challenges in agriculture and rural development, in addition to identifying means to use communication and information technology sustainable development, and mechanisms for employing communication and information technology to create the desired boom in the agricultural sector, specifically in the field of smart agriculture.
