The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), in collaboration with the Somali Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, organized a national training course in the field of Food Security from 15-19 September 2019 in Mogadishu, Somalia. The participants were 25 trainees working at the Somali Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
The course enhanced the capacities and developed the skills and competencies of specialists and workers in the field of agriculture and food security by introducing them to the latest economic and climate changes that have become a threat to food security in the Arab region and how to address them.
The four-day course dealt with important topics including the importance of agricultural production in achieving food security, introducing the concepts and themes of food security in its four components, indicators of measuring food security, factors affecting each component of food security, and data and information related to each component of food security.
