The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Director General H.E Prof Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri, received the Governor of Nile River State H.E Major General Hatem El-Waseela El Samani, on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at AOAD headquarters in Khartoum.
This visit came as a continuation to the efforts of exerted by AOAD and its keenness to encourage agricultural investment in the Sudan within the framework of the Sustainable Agricultural Development Strategy, the Arab Food Security Emergency Program and the initiative of the Sudanese president H.E Field Marshal Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir for Arab Investment in Sudan to achieve Arab food security.
AOAD presented an initial presentation of the preliminary results of the study of the integrated project of the export of red meat and other animal products in the Sudanese state the Nile River state. That came to enhance Sudan’s’ contribution in bridging the livestock and red meat gap in the Arab region.
In the same context, H.E Major General El Samani said that this study is an economic and technical study that will contribute to the establishment of a project that supports the national economy. He added that the selection of the Nile River State came after several studies that proved the state is free of animal diseases. The project is specialized in the export of red meat, it also includes slaughterhouses and frozen warehouses.
H.E Major General El Samani invited H.E Prof El Dukheri and AOAD experts to visit the state and meet with those involved in the study to expand the circle of discussion with experts and stakeholders.
It is worth mentioning that the AOAD team, headed by H.E Prof El Dukheri, will present the results of the preliminary study in order to finalize it during a visit tothe Nile River State on the 15th -16th of July 2018.
