The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) on Wednesday, 9 October 2019 at AOAD’s headquarters in Sudan. The Acting Director General & the Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs of AOAD Eng. Raed Hattar represented AOAD in signing and the WFP was represented by Mr Adham Musallam, WFP Country Director in Sudan.
The cooperation agreement with the WFP was about strengthening cooperation and supporting AOAD's efforts and activities in improving livelihoods in Darfur states to build the capacity of internally displaced people (IDPs) and rural women.
It is worth mentioning that AOAD is working to implement the project (improving livelihoods in Darfur states) in cooperation with a number of international organizations through a number of components including improving agricultural production, livestock and water harvesting.
