The (AOAD) is greatly concerned with the livestock sector in the Arab world. As part of its efforts to build capacities and train veterinary personnel in the field of laboratory diagnosis of diseases, the AOAD organized a national training course in the field of "Laboratory Diagnosis of Diseases Using (PCR) Technique". The training course was launched on the 5th of November 2017 and continues for five days. Twenty five trainees from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning in Bahrain participated in the course.

The course included lectures on molecular biology of DNA, biosafety, techniques used in diagnostic laboratories, and theoretical and applied aspects of polymerase chain reaction. The course also included laboratory analysis of diseases, using polymerase chain reaction technology and experimental designs supported by practical examples from the Gulf States.
