The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) launched a training course in the field of "Strategies and marketing channels for small and medium-sized farms" in cooperation with the Qatari Ministry of Municipality and Environment, on the 16th to the 19th of June 2019 in Doha, Qatar, at the headquarters of the Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs Sector. The participants were 20 trainees (agricultural marketing specialists) with the participation of the Agricultural Affairs, Agricultural Research and Food Security Departments and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Planning and Statistics Authority and Hassad Food Company.
The opening ceremony was attended by Eng. Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department and a number of officials from the Ministry of Municipalities and Environment in Qatar.
The main objectives of the course were: marketing methods, useful information for farmers, projects for farmers' markets, pricing mechanism (reasonable price for you and satisfying for the buyer), promotion and role of new market bodies, classification of major products on grades (excellent, medium).
