The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a training course on" Red Palm Weevil: The Problem and Means of control ", in Cairo, Egypt, from 22-24/12/2013.

The training course addressed such topics as; symptoms of red weevil infestation, the various hosts of the red palm weevil, means of early inspection and detection of infestation, integrated management, its control approaches, and management procedures and the relation between the various borer insects and infestation with the red palm weevil.
