H.E Professor El Dukhiri stressed the importance of Remote Sensing Techniques for Sustainable Development


H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri, the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), stressed the importance of using modern and non-traditional technologies in the agricultural sector. These technologies are considered one of the most important applications due to the changing vegetation areas and diversification. It requires a continuous monitoring to its development and organize management and investment programs.

This came during the closing session of the training course on "Remote Sensing and its Applications in the Agricultural and Fisheries Sector" carried out by the AOAD at its headquarters in Khartoum, Sudan, from 16-20 December 2017. The participants were 17 Arab cadres from nine Arab countries (Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Oman, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Libya).

On the same morning, H.E Prof El Dukhiri also attended the opening session of the 25th meeting of the Scientific Council and the Board of Directors of the Regional Center for Remote Sensing of North African Countries held in Khartoum, Sudan. Pointing out to the technical support and the needed upgrade to the Arab capacities in this field.

The meeting discussed the importance of sensing techniques to achieve sustainable development in the Arab world. Stressing the importance to use these techniques as a supportive and a complementary tool applied in all developmental sectors. Supporting the planners and decision makers to develop the required sustainable development plans.
