The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) concluded the training course on the Developing Statistical and Information Programs on the 29th of April to the 3rd of May 2018 for 21 participants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in the Republic of Sudan working in the field of agricultural extension and design of agricultural experiments. The training course aimed at developing the skills of the participants in collecting, analyzing and disseminating agricultural statistics and developing their abilities to use advanced methods and programs in statistics and statistical capacity building. It also aimed to evaluate data quality and develop the participants’ skills in updating data and writing statistical reports. In addition the course included an overview of information systems. It is expected that by the end of the course the trainees would be able to use the latest methods in the areas of collecting, preparing, analyzing and disseminating agricultural statistics, and writing statistical reports that would contribute in the development strategies.
