The 48th Session of the Executive Council of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) was inaugurated on Wednesday, the 25th of April 2018, in the Dead Sea, Jordan. The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Khalid Al Hanifat, welcomed at the opening session their Excellencies, the President and members of the Executive Council and AOAD Director General, stressing the importance of promoting joint Arab action and adopting strategies that contribute to the development of agricultural sectors in the Arab region.
The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt, Prof. Abdel Moneim Abdel Wadoud El Banna, thanked Jordan for their hospitality and praised AOAD’s exerted efforts to develop agriculture in the Arab region.
H.E Professor Ibrahim Adam El-Dukhiri, Director-General of AOAD expressed his appreciation and to Jordan for the hospitality and hosting 48th session. Moreover, he emphasized the important role of the Executive Council as the second legislative body of AOAD after the General Assembly, which carries out essential functions.
It is worth noting that the Executive Council includes agriculture ministers from eight Arab countries: Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Yemen, Comoros, Libya, Qatar and Egypt.
During this session, the Council adopted important decisions relating to the topics on its agenda.
