Training course in the field of

"Cattle Embryo Transfer and the Application of Ultrasound Techniques in Animal Reproduction”


The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) in cooperation with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), organized a training course (2nd phase) in the field of "Cattle Embryo Transfer and the Application of Ultrasound Techniques in Animal Reproduction”, on the 1st to the 15th of April 2018 in Algeria, at the National Center for Artificial Insemination and Genetic Improvement (CNIAAG). The participants were 10 trainees from African countries speaking French.

The training program included theoretical and practical lectures on the transfer of embryos at cows, selection and preparation of donor mothers, collection and examination of embryos and processing, and application of ultrasound in the field of animal reproduction in cattle to diagnose early pregnancy, the development of the fetus and the detection of reproductive system diseases in cows.

 The course came within the framework of the technical cooperation between AOAD and BADEA. It is worth mentioning here that the first training course in the field of artificial insemination in cows was during 14-25 May 2017 for African countries speaking French. The African countries were (Mali, Senegal, Burundi, Togo, Cabo Verde, São Tomé) at the National Center for Artificial Insemination and Genetic Improvement in Algeria.
