The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a training course in the field of Industrial Forest Systems (Desert Plantation) on 1-5 July 2018 in Bahrain. The participants were 20 technicians from the Bahraini Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning from various departments related to nurseries, plant production and protection.
The course aimed to highlight the importance of afforestation and artificial forests in Bahrain and to enable the trainees to learn the most important stages and technical foundations for artificial tree planting, moreover to study the species most suitable for the environmental conditions prevailing in Bahrain. As well as to learn about the international and Arab experiences in the field of addressing the degradation and reforestation of the desert areas.
The trainees discussed with AOAD expert the outline of a plan of action for artificial reforestation in Bahrain.
