The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development and he Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands signed agreements with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia


The Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development Organization (AOAD) H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri, and the Director General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) H.E Dr. Rafiq Ali Saleh, signed with the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture H.E Eng Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadli, in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday 26 February 2019, a number of agreements to improve the quality of services provided by the ministry to beneficiaries in 20 sectors related to environment, water and agriculture.

H.E Eng Abdulrahman pointed out that the signed agreements are aimed at supervising the implementation of projects and preparing studies and training in the sectors of water and rainwater harvesting, sustainable management of rangelands, afforestation and development of natural vegetation cover, combating desertification and reducing its effects, soil and land degradation, Geographic information system (GIS), crops, trees, drought-tolerant and saline farming practices, improved livestock breeds and animal health and care.

H.E Eng Abdulrahman added that the ministry is seeking through these agreements to cooperate with international, regional and Arab organizations in the fields related to the ministry's work, stressing that the main objective is to develop natural resources in Saudi Arabia and exploit them optimally and sustainably, in addition to benefiting from Arab expertise and competencies in the fields of environment, projects, preparation of studies and training of Saudi cadres with a view to transferring experiences.
