The Director of the Date Palm Research Center (DPRC), Porf. Mohammed bin Rafdan Al-Hajhuj, received the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukheri and his accompanying delegation at the headquarters of the Center in Saudi Arabia.
A detailed video presentation was presented to AOAD delegation about the center and a description of the services it provides, as well as pharmaceutical and medical products from date palms, which have added value that will contribute to Saudi Arabi economy.
H.E Prof. El Dukheri also visited the Center's Permanent Exhibition where he was briefed on the achievements and contributions of the Center for research, science and community, international cooperation, national cooperation and ongoing research, water conservation, plant health, date production and food products.
The two sides discussed mutual cooperation and the possibility of benefiting from the capabilities and expertise available at the Center to contribute to the development of the palm sector at the regional and international levels, and the possibility of the Center being the authorized reference for all related to this important sector in the Arab region.
During the meeting, H.E Prof. El Dukheri outlined the objectives and work of AOAD and the importance of cooperation, emphasizing the objective of the visit in establishing a strong base for cooperation to contribute to the development of date palm sector and linking Arab and international experiences with each other.
It worth mentioning that the Center has received Khalifa International Date Palm Award and Agricultural Innovation in the category of developmental and leading projects.
