The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) launched a training course in the field of Technology Transfer in Crops Production, on 2-4 October 2018, in Cairo, Egypt. The participants were 25 researchers specialized in grain crops from the Field Crops Research Institute
in Egypt.
The course included several lectures on the role of the Field Crops Research Institute in the technology transfer in the production of grain crops and its role in maximizing the productivity of wheat and maize to fill the food gap in grain crops.
The course aimed to introduce the trainees to the importance of technology transfer and applied sciences in achieving self-sufficiency in various grain crops and providing food security for the citizens through national campaigns that seek to maximize productivity, increase farm income and national income, especially the method of planting wheat on terraces to reduce the amount of water, using modern breeds resistant to diseases, which are adopted as a basis for global production.
