The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), represented by the Regional Office for the Arab Mashreq, participated on Monday 22/10/2019 in the workshop entitled "Protecting the Local Product (Olive Oil)", which was held in Amman, Jordan.
The workshop was organized by the Agricultural Engineers Association in cooperation with the Jordan Olive Products Exporters Association (JOPEA), the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Amman Chamber of Industry "Made in Jordan Campaign" and the Jordanian Society for Sensory Evaluation of Food.
The workshop was held at the Professional Associations Complex in cooperation with the campaign "Check your oil before it reaches home" under the auspices of the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture and Environment in, H.E Eng. Ibrahim Shehahdah.
During the workshop, AOAD representative presented the role AOAD plays in supporting traditional and modern agriculture and emphasizing the importance of achieving value added products in the Arab countries, in addition to the role of AOAD in consolidating good agricultural practices in the Arab region through its training efforts, rehabilitation and continuous empowerment of youth and women in order to create specialized technical cadres in various agricultural fields in the Arab countries.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting of the Executive Council of AOAD in its 49th ordinary session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 28 March 2019 approved the decision to establish the Arab Olive Office to be within the organizational structure of AOAD supporting this important sector and developing it to meet the needs of the Arab region.
