On the 8th of November 2017, H.E Prof. Ibrahim Adam El Dukhiri, the Director General of the AOAD, visited the National Institute of Land, Irrigation and Drainage in Algeria. He was briefed on the activities of the institution. The institutions' work involved Land Reclamation and its classification, preparation of maps and land affinity for agriculture, the establishment and characterization of irrigation networks, follow-up of agricultural meteorological information using remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems, and water drainage systems.

H.E Prof. El Dukhiri presented AOADs' goals, programs and how it supports the Arab countries. Afterwards he had a tour around the laboratories in the institution, and a detailed explanation was given to him on their operation.
