The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized a training course on " Epidemiological Survey and Risk Analysis " during the 19th till the 23rd of November 2017 in Qatar. The participants were veterinarians from the department of Livestock Wealth in the Ministry of Municipalities and Environment.

The training course aimed to provide veterinarians with the basic concepts and information about the epidemiological survey and its monitoring and follow-up to identify the pathological factors in the field environment. Moreover it aimed to enable them to predict causes and future diseases as well as to identify the most important requirements of biosecurity and its role in protecting herds from transboundary diseases.

 It is worth mentioning that the training program included a field visit to one of the farms (sheep, cattle). Also the group visited working veterinary quarantines in order to introduce the practical aspects of the course topics.
