Training course in the field Postharvest Transactions and Marketing Methods and their Relationship to Losses Percentage from Agricultural Production


The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) held a training course in the field of " Postharvest Transactions and Marketing Methods and their Relationship to Losses Percentage from Agricultural Production", on Sunday 12-15/8/2018 in Cairo, Egypt. The participants were 20 trainees (Quality and Production Officers) working in factories and companies.

 The course included several lectures on the optimal utilization of human natural resources to increase agricultural production, expand the labor market through job creation, production and evaluation of smart packaging for the packaging of horticultural crops and their products.

The course also presented lectures on defining, tracking, sorting and classifying vegetables and fruits. The course aimed to familiarize the participants with the importance of food processing to achieve food security, identify the various losses in the field of food processing and what causes the damage, and use modern technologies to reduce losses, how to benefit from the waste of food processing, methods of encoding products and their importance, sorting and grading vegetables and fruits and their importance to protect products from getting spoiled to increase their economic value.
