The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) organized training course on "Designing epidemiological surveys and data analysis for infectious abortion" during 22-26 July 2018 at the headquarters of the AOAD in Khartoum, Sudan. The course came within the framework of the National Program for the Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases in the Arab Region and in collaboration with the Sudanese Ministry of Animal Resources. The participants were 15 trainees from different livestock institutions from all over the states of Sudan.

The course aimed at building the capacity of veterinary staff and developing the skills of participants in the design of epidemiological surveys and data analysis for infectious abortion. The training course included lectures on epidemiology of infectious abortion, epidemiological surveys and their design, survey protocol system and design of epidemiological surveys and samples. It was a framework for information collection, epidemiological data management, analysis and evaluation of results, which led at the end of the course, the trainees to write a report and present in it the information.
