The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized two training courses in Tunisia, for the Maghreb region, during the period 18-23 July 2018 each for three days. The participants were professionals and cadres specialized in the ministries of agriculture.
The first course dealt with the methodology of preparing statistical and fishery data in the Arab world, while the second course was devoted to the methods of preparing the reports of the Arab food security situation.
The two courses included theoretical lectures and practical exercises provided by experts of AOAD and FAO. The organization of these courses is part of the AOAD’s efforts to continuously increase the capacities of the Arab human resources working in the sectors of agricultural development and food security in general. Similar training courses to be in the future for the other Arab territories, namely the Middle East, Mashreq, Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula.
