The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) participated in the 12th Annual Pomegranate and Rural Products Festival, on the 23rd of October 2019 in Irbid, Jordan. The festival was under the patronage of H.E the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Eng. Ibrahim Al Shehahdeh.

The festival represented the importance of the development of pomegranate cultivation in Jordan and addressed the challenges facing farmers and defining modern scientific methods in the cultivation and harvest of pomegranate fruits in addition to introducing the nutritional and economic value of pomegranate products and benefit from the various experiences in this area. Pomegranates enter various industries, including pharmaceuticals, which brings added value and estimated return to farmers in the northern region, in addition to its contribution in supporting rural women, providing job opportunities for youth, eradicating poverty and unemployment in local communities.

It is worth mentioning that the festival had a wide participation from various official bodies and organizations working in the field of agriculture in Jordan. The festival witnessed an increase in the number of farmers participating by 30% compared to last year and the number of participants 115 participants, including 59 farmers.
