The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) held a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2019 with the Center for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe )CEDARE). During the meeting several topics were discussed, such as the project of sustainability of rangelands, which the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) intends to launch in cooperation with AOAD, CEDARE, Desert Research Center, Hashemite Fund for Development of Jordan Badia and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

 The project is being implemented in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Morocco, as well as other countries from Asia, Africa and South America.

The project aims to achieve sustainable rangeland management, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, raise the level of good practices and promote the environment.
