The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) launched a training course in the field of
Collecting and Analyzing Agricultural Statistical Information, on Sunday the 25th to the 29th of November 2018, in the Nile River State, Sudan. The participants were 25 trainees from the State Ministry of Agriculture.
The course aimed to introduce the participants to the importance of agricultural statistics and to develop their skills on the methods of collecting agricultural data, designing data collection forms, statistical sampling methods and methods of calculating the sample size. The course also aimed to define descriptive data analysis using the SPSS program, in addition to statistical hypothesis tests and applications using a practical program and applications using SPSS. The participants were also introduced to the Global Strategy for Improving Agricultural Statistics and the World Census 2020.
It was expected that the outcome of the of the session will create agricultural statistical cadres able to use the latest methods in the fields of collecting, preparing, analyzing and disseminating agricultural statistics, writing statistical reports that will contribute to the development of development strategies.
