Under the kind auspices of Sudan Presidency, H.E Prof Ibrahim Adam Ahmed El Dukhiri the Director General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), presented (19) fishing boats equipped with accessories (engines, fishing nets, fish containers and life jackets) to the Ministry of Animal Wealth of Sudan.
H.E Prof El Dukhiri stressed the AOAD's efforts to combat poverty and hunger. He also referred to the importance of improving the food security situation of the rural families. This came within the framework of the '' Project against Poverty and Rural Prosperity ".
The AOAD supported the Ministry of Animal Wealth with laboratory equipments and other supplies. The AOAD takes seriously the threats that hinder intra-trade (Live animals and meat) to ensure the safety of animal food commodities.
The AOAD also provided several training programs for Arab cadres working in the field of animal production, health, development and conservation of fish and livestock resources. AOAD has also acted in the aquaculture sector, for its growing role in countries economies, exports, food security and safety, and job creation. The AOAD launched the Arab Program for Freshwater Aquaculture since 2010 on (62 acres) on the White Nile, Shagara, Khartoum aiming to increase fish production. In 2018, it is expected that about 26 million fingerlings of Nile tilapia will be produced.
This celebration was one of the fruitful partnerships, which was created between the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development and the Ministry of Animal Resources in Sudan.
