The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) launched a training course in the field of "Monitoring, Investigating and Controlling Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR)" in cooperation with the Public Authority for Veterinary Services representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, on 27/7/2019 at the Regional Middle East office in Egypt. The participants were 28 trainees from 14 Arab countries including Sudan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Palestine, Oman, Jordan, Algeria, Libya , Yemen, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Mauritania and Egypt.

The course aimed at introducing PPR in terms of prevalence, methods of collecting, preserving and circulating samples of the disease and how to conduct the necessary surveys, besides introducing the strategy of controlling and eliminating PPR and the lessons learned from eliminating the disease and presenting the types of epidemiological investigation in the stages of combating the disease and its eradication.
