The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development met the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East & North Africa AARINENA


The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) team of the Regional Office for the Arab Mashreq held a meeting on Tuesday 20/8/2019 with the Executive Secretary of the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East & North Africa AARINENA Prof. Rida Shibli, member of the Jordanian Senate, at the Association’s headquarters in Amman.

The meeting discussed the framework of enhancing and expanding the partnership between both sides in the fields of exchanging information, data and expertise related to research and modern technology in the Arab countries. Moreover, in the field of building human and institutional capacities in the areas of increasing the capacity of the Arab peoples to protect and sustain their natural resources, in addition to cooperation in the preparation of project documents in the fields of community development and rural development at the national and regional level in the Arab countries.

 It is worth mentioning that the Association is an international body established in 1985 with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the agricultural and rural development in West Asia and North Africa and to strengthen cooperation between scientific research institutions within the region and international research and studies centers from outside the region.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between them aimed at cooperating in achieving the common goals.
